Holy Trinity Church Selected as Pittsburgh Host Site
FOCUS North America and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Pittsburgh, are pleased to announce that Holy Trinity Church will become the FOCUS Summer Feeding Program Host Site for Pittsburgh starting in June 2017. Each week from mid-June through mid-August, a team of local volunteers from Holy Trinity and other area churches and organizations will gather on Monday through Friday mornings to prepare lunches in Holy Trinity Church’s commercially-equipped kitchen. The project will be coordinated by a paid FOCUS Site Supervisor. The meals will then be delivered to the new distribution site at the Carnegie Library Extension on Federal in Pittsburgh’s North TSide, just a few blocks from Holy Trinity Church’s previous location.
Volunteers Needed
Summer Feeding is a perfect opportunity for a meaningful weekly activity, students looking for volunteer hours, or just a simple way to positively impact the community. We need volunteers each weekday throughout the summer to prepare and serve food. We need volunteers to prepare food on June 13 – August 11 at Holy Trinity Church from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Volunteers will then deliver and serve lunch to children at the Carnegie Library from 1 – 2 p.m. Background clearances may be required to work with children at this site.
