Metropolis Regional Parish Council Seminar and Archons Vespers
On Tuesday, November 29th, the community of Holy Trinity in Pittsburgh is graciously hosting services for the feast of St. Andrew, founder and patron of our Ecumenical Patriarchate, and a regional Parish Council seminar. Vespers will begin at 6:00pm, followed by the Seminar, which will conclude by 9:00pm. The church is located at 985 Providence Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
All those seeking election to Parish Council are required to attend a Parish Council seminar. Often these are facilitated within the parish by the parish priest, but many have requested that we go back to regional seminars, where we can gather in common as leaders to learn and grow in our faith and stewardship of the trust given to us. Regional seminars would only need to be supplemented by very brief parish discussions of the unique things to the community (parish bylaws & procedures).
Co-hosting the Vespers are the area Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, dedicated volunteers who assist with the ministries at Parish, Metropolis, and Archdiocesan levels who then further their commitment to the Church by supporting the work of the Ecumenical Patriarchate through advocacy, education, personal growth, and financial stewardship. The Archons celebrate the feast of St. Andrew as their own patronal feast, and will spend a few minutes at the Seminar discussing their work at all levels of the Church.
