A Message from the Stewardship Chairman

Dear Parishioners,

It’s 2009! The air is filled with continued activity and optimism in our community. The deep commitment and love for Holy Trinity shines in your faces. In the bustle of everything else you do, there is also a renewed determination to keep building a Stewardship program that is stronger year by year, and support the church that we call our home at the highest level. Because this is the home where we nurture the spiritual life of our children, where we honor the foundation of faith built by our forefathers, where we form our deepest friendships and understand our place in God’s plan.

I invite you to join the stewards of Holy Trinity Church in 2009 with the faith and love that you have been showing and with new energy and passion for what is to come. Enclosed is the 2009 Stewardship Commitment Card and information. Be generous as the Lord is generous to you. Increase your Stewardship Commitment over last year so that we may continue to grow in our service to Christ, His Church and you. We all know the challenges our church is facing. The cost to operate Holy Trinity today is nearly $1,000 per day, or about $350,000 per year. Our 250 to 260 devoted stewards have been averaging $650, for a total of $170,000 in stewardship offerings.

You can do the math. Yes, we do need to move our stewardship commitment upwards if we are to cover our daily expenses. This applies to all of us, of every income level – don’t discount your ability to make a difference; each and every fasouli (bean) counts towards the goal of filling up the bag. Yes, we do need to get more people involved, beyond the core volunteers. And yes, we do have to work on educating ourselves on the blessings of giving. But, if we didn’t have room to grow, there wouldn’t be progress to look forward to or the prospect to improve ourselves. That challenge is a blessing in itself. Let’s welcome it. Let’s continue to strive to become a better giver, a better friend, a better Christian; there is lots of room for all of us here, starting with our offering: “Your own gifts, from Your own, we offer to You with all our being and for all our blessings.”

I am honored and humbled by your dedication to this community; grateful for your strength in all aspects of Stewardship – your Talents, your Time and your Treasures.

Wishing you, in your journey this new year, all the Faith of the Saints and the Love of Jesus Christ,

Michael A. Kritiotis

Stewardship Committee Chairperson
