Metropolis Basketball Tournament: January 22-24, 2010

Holy Trinity GOYA hosted a Metropolis of Pittsburgh Basketball Tournament from January 22-24, 2010. The event was held at gymnasiums of the North Allegheny School District in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Worship was held at Holy Trinity Church. The hotel was the Holiday Inn on McKnight Road.

Important Haiti Outreach Project Information!

As part of Friday nights activities, we are going be putting together emergency health kits as part of the IOCC relief efforts for Haiti.  There are many items needed for these kits and to help coordinate the materials, we have assigned specific items to each parish.  Please work with your GOYAns to round up the materials requested and we’ll have a group effort is putting the kits together on Friday night.  The items are:

• 100 hand towels (each parish) – Holy Cross Pittsburgh & Archangel Michael Campbell
• 100 wash cloth (each parish) – Holy Trinity Canton & St. Paul, North Royalton
• 200 files/nail clippers – Sts. Constantine & Helen
• 200 toothbrushes – All Saints Canonsburg
• 200 bars of soap – St. John, Youngstown
• 100 boxes of bandaids (with at least a dozen in each) – Annunciation Akron

 (Note:  You may want to try Costco, Sam's Club or Walmart for these items. They are not very expensive in quantities there. You may also want to ask your Philoptochos or philanthropy fund at your parish if they can help you with the costs.  We will provide the Ziploc bags to put all the items into.)

This is an invitational tournament, with the participanting parishes designated by the Metropolis Youth Office. Parishes on the list have already been sent tournament registration information. The following documents are available to invited teams:
